Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. It protects against damage caused by excess free radicals, especially in cell membranes and other fat-soluble areas of the body.
There are three significant types of tocopherols: alpha-, gamma- and delta-tocopherol.
Until recently, alpha-tocopherol was considered the only important type of Vitamin E and almost all Vitamin E preparations contained just alpha-tocopherol. Recent research has shown that a naturally-occurring mixture of tocopherols offers more protection than alpha-tocopherol alone.
Rape seed oil contains a healthy mixture of omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids.
